Funeral services for Minnie K. Duke will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.
Minnie K. Duke was born December 6,1914 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Aaron and Sarah Odom. She passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 in Okemah at the age of 94.
Minnie had been a resident of the Okemah area most all of her life. She and Dorvan H. Duke were married March 4, 1950 in Wewoka. He later preceded her in death January 6, 2000. Minnie worked at McDonald Douglas where she put windows in the DC-3 airplane. She also worked as a waitress at Jack's Cafe in Okemah for many years. Minnie was also a member of the Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dorvan; one daughter, Alice Jane Duke; one sister, Hazel; and three brothers, Jack, Clyde, and Leonard.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Duke and wife Nancy of Henryetta and Dorvan "Nubbin"' Duke Jr. and wife Jan of. Yukon; one brother, Sammy Williamson and wife Lois of Henryetta; two grandchildren, Matthew Duke and wife Melissa of Henryetta and Patty Kenneda of Henryetta; two greatgrandchildren, four step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearer will be Rick Kennedy, Josh Matthews, Bryan Alien Duke, Rusty Davidson, Gary Duke, Don Walker, and Charles Walker.
Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Chaplain Don Knight and Walter Bryan Duke.
