Susie Hunter Aycock, 89, of East Prairie, MO, died Feb. 23, 2004, in the Golden Years Homestead in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Born Feb. 13, 1915, in New Madrid County, MO, daughter of the late Robert W. and Susie Mae Woodward Hunter, she had lived most of her life in East Prairie, MO, where she and her late husband owned and operated Aycock's Corner Confectionery and Jewelry. She was also a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie, MO.
On Jan. 1, 1938, she married Eugene C. "Gene" Aycock who preceded her in death on March 16, 1993.
Three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Judi Aycock; one daughter, Cathy Dodson; one brother, Robert "Sonny" Hunter; one sister, Ruth Wilson; five grandchildren, Courtney Rottinghaus, Alexandra Dodson, Amanda Fetko, Jaime Aycock, and Jessica Aycock; one great-grandson, Hunter Harrison Rottinghaus; and a host of relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services were scheduled with the Rev. Martin Lucas officiating.
Burial followed in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
