Mrs. Mary J. Olberding
Baileyville-Mrs. Mary J. Olberding, 92, Baileyvile, died Tuesday, aug. 28, at a Seneca nursing home.
Mrs. Olberding and her husband farmed in the Baileyville community many years, lived at Axtell one year and entered a Seneca nursing home Nov. 17, 1979.
She was born Sept. 27, 1891, at Dummerlohausen, Germany, the daughter of Bernard and Agnes Rottinghaus Runnebaum. She moved to the United States in 1903 and settled in the St. Benedict community. She attended St. Benedict schools.
Mrs. Olberding was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Baileyville.
She was married to Henry Olberding April 15, 1913, at St. Benedict. He died March 17, 1980. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Cyril Olberding Feb. 22, 1980 and Aloysius Olberding Aug. 12, 1983.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Helen Bevins, Harrisburg, Ore., Mrs. Frances Boltz, Weston, Mo., and Mrs. Marie Stallbaumer and Mrs. Millie Bontrager, both of Seneca; three sons, Leonard Olberding, Seneca, Henry Olberding Jr., Axtell, and Alvin Olberding, Baileyville; a sister, Mrs. Lena Heiman, Seneca; 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Baileyville. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca Emergency Medical Technicians.
