Clarence B. Hammes, 79, Baileyville, KS, died Monday, May 4, 1992, at a Seneca hospital. He had Parkinson's disease for many years.
He was born March 18, 1913, on a farm northwest of Baileyville, the son of Aloysius and Margaret Engelken Hammes. He attended Sacred Heart school at Baileyville and was graduated in 1931 from Maur Hill High School in Atchison, KS.
Mr. Hammes was a farmer and stockman many years east of Baileyville. He retired in 1981.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Baileyville and an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus No 1769 at Seneca where he had been a member more than 60 years.
He is survived by his sister, Lucille Hammes, Baileyville, KS; and brother, Elmer Hammes, Seneca, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Baileyville, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery.
