Howard Curtis Oliver, the fourth child of Abner and Oliver, went to high school one year and then started farming with his father. In June, 1917, he married Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Lichlyter. They tried farming in several different communities, but most of the time they farmed and lived on the old Lichlyter farm 7 miles west of Attica. They were all great workers in the Pentecostal Church. Howard was a large man and the picture of health, but for many years was a victim of diabetes and high blood pressure. In 1943 he and his family moved to Wichita, except Bessie who was a heart patient in the Anthony hospital. After several months she was able to be taken home, but never able to be up and she passed away August 15, 1944. Howard suffered a stroke June 17, 1946, and passed away 2 A.M. June 19, 1946. Two more graves are now in the Attica cemetery. (In this cemetery are four generations of Oliver's - Deborah, her son, Stephen, his son, Abner, and Abner's son, Howard.)
