Rev. Strickland of Wilmington, North Carolina was born a son of the late Hector Strickland and Emily Massengill Strickland. He served as pastor at the following Advent Christian Churches: Banner Chapel, Mission Work at St. Louis, Wilson Mills, Holly Grove, Bethlehem Church in Augusta, Georgia, and Stones Creek. Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Myrtie Wood Strickland; a daughter, Carol S. Robbins and husband Dave; three sons, Donald W. Strickland and wife Ann, Larry W. Strickland and wife Naomi Judd Strickland, and Reginald M. Strickland and wife Nancy; three sisters, Vara Hobbs, Hazel Lewis, Algia 'Gia' Green; a brother, Melvin Strickland; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Strickland. A brother, Hubert Strickland, and a sister, Leola Pope preceded him in death. Rev. Strickland died at age 84 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
