Aug. 21, 1917-Jan. 20, 2003 SEAL ROCK -- Raymond George Attebury, 85, of Seal Rock, died of cancer Monday, Jan. 20, 2003.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Attebury home in Seal Rock.
Mr. Attebury was born Aug. 21, 1917, at Stanfield where he grew up and attended school.
He served with the Navy aboard the USS Jason as electrician's mate during World War II.
Mr. Attebury was a self-employed electrical contractor.
In 1999, he married Penny Hoiland.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Attebury; son, Rich Attebury; daughters, Carolyn Schwartz and Marolyn Jenkins; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joye Coe Attebury, in 1979.
Bateman Funeral Home, 915 N.E Yaquina Heights Drive, Newport, is in charge of arrangements.
