Word was received by the John Chapmans that Mrs. Nellie Boddye of Hastings had passed away. Mrs. Boddye is a former Nelson resident. She is the mother of Mrs. Virgil Doll of Hastings. Mrs. Jake Chapman went to Hastings this Tuesday to visit her brother and wife, the Virgil Dolls.

Services for Mrs. Nellie Boddye, 80, of Hastings were held at the Brand-Wilson Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Boddye was a native of Illinois and resided in Edgar and Nelson before moving to Hastings 14 years ago. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Nelson and the church of the Nazarene in Hastings.

Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Edna) Doll of Hastings; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a brother Carl McCauley of Edgar; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rev. J.J. Beaver officiated and burial was in Edgar cemetery (sic).

Attending the funeral from Nelson, were Mr. and Mrs. Jake Chapman and Ralph Chapman. Jake and Ralph served as pallbearers, representing the IOOF Lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Watts north of Nelson also attended. Mrs. Watts is a niece of Mrs. Boddye.
