Jessie Mae Phelps departed this life May 2,2002. Her surviving family includes 6 children, David Phelps, Carl Phelps, Charlotte Rowsey, Frances Crowell, Linda Wilkes and Sarah Heath; 3 sisters, Mildred Windsor, Madeline Cash, and Josephine Thompson; and 2 brothers, Burnell Farrar and George Farrar; plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 6, 2002 at 1:00 p.m., Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, Virginia, conducted by The Reverend Walter Yancey and The Reverend J.D. Surbaugh, Jr. Interment followed at the Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, Virginia.
