DAUGHERTY, LUCY DAVIS, born December 12, 1898, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 4, 1999, after a brief illness. A native of Quitman, MS, she lived in Mobile until moving to Birmingham in 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Coleman Daugherty; and by four of her children, Austin G. Daugherty, Bertha D. Hall, Cecil C. Daugherty, and George H. Daugherty, and by a granddaughter, Abbie D. Shaw. She is survived by one son, Hal L. Daugherty (Dorothea) of Mobile; and four daughters: Lorene D. Dorlon (Harry P.) of Birmingham, Eugenia D. Williams (James H.) of Daphne, Edwina D. McCormick (William N.) of Atlanta, and Patricia Jackson (Donald E.) of Kings Mills, Ohio. Of her twenty-seven surviving grandchildren, those in Birmingham include Kathryn Dorlon Anderson (Frank), Steven G. Daugherty (Kathy), Michael C. Daugherty, and Candi D. Ellett, as well as Harry P. Dorlon Jr. (Skip and Jenna) and Dr. Geoffrey W. Daugherty (Julie), all formerly of Birmingham along with sixty-nine great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Mobile on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery Chapel.
