2nd child daughter Nita Irena "Baby Harris' Nov 21-23, 1930, Crane Hill, Al was born to parents William Constantine Harris and wife Mamie Harris, Crane Hill, Al. Nita Irena "Baby"Harris came into this world after a hard delivery for Mother and Child, crying and alive she was O.K. Nita's was so pretty, heathly looking. Her tiny life took a turn, all efforts to save her were made. But she later died, after living just Nov. 21-23,burial on the 25th. The Doctor,Family, Friends gather to watch over Mother and Child after the birth both were not doing well. Mother always spoke of Nita as much a pretty Baby .Nita Irena "Baby" Harris had one older sister Frances Violet Mamie Harris. Later the family would become very large, 8 more siblings, told of nine girls were born to Mamie and Constantine Harris, but only one boy... Nita, parents had total of 10 children .Nita was a beautiful baby, weight was about 6 pounds, so healthy looking, just beautiful,... with light lots of red blond hair, lighty curley. Nita Irena "Baby" Harris was buried Johnson Grove Methodist Public Cem., Brushy Pond, Al by her Family members , Grandfather John Franklin Harris, grandmother Lelar Jones Cruce Harris, Aunts , Uncles( names- Harris - Phillips, Cruce, others), Cousins, and Great grandparents James Constantine Harris and great grandmother Eliza, S.E=Sarah Elizabeth Calvert Harris dau. of William Calvert and Sara sallie Elizabeth Wright).As told by Mamie,I had made my Baby little white gowns, not knowing if it would be a Boy or Girl. Mamie would speak often.. telling us this story... Nita Irena " Baby " Harris was buried in a beautiful hand stiched long white glown, with hand made lace,,taten lace, layers of thin voil soft materials,, flannels, soft white cotton materials, soft, fancy, made with love, tears, as we added more touches laces,and ruffles, tiny flowers sewing with tiny stitches for her burial dress inside of casket was lined so beautiful with white soft material with tiny flowers made in materials, layers of soft lace.. tucks ever so tiny, tiny ruff's of thin materials, as was a custom of that day. "Baby" wore her fancy white grown, booties-socks, with warm soft blankets. Mother would talk on..Babies wore dress very warm clothes back then.. as it was cold in November. Mamie never got over losting her tiny beautiful "Baby", born so full of life . Mother always kept tiny pieces fabric cloth,swatchs of Nita burial glown clothings, casket materials' pined together just as the layers of fabric of tiny dress, cap-bonnet,allkeepsakes,a bit casket linings.Kept safely in a tin container. As children we would look at these tiny fabic pieces, while wanting to see our Sister,again Mother would tell us about our Baby sister Nita. Many years later Mother longed for Heaven, (as her life neared the end ).. she wanted to go where her Baby Nita was,, Heaven was where Mamie wanted to be, just as Jesus Christ welcomed Nita home 1932 Nov. 23.- many years later Mamie 1998 was welcomed home. Nitas' Father William Constantine Harris died 1983, they were finally Home together. Nita was laid to rest near grave site of Nancy Hunter a girl child.. with other graves sites, for using later years for her family... her Grandfather John Franklin Harris born 1868-1924, burial by several other family members, uncle child James Marion Harris son of James and Sarah Eliz(sara elizabeth) Calvert Harris, grandmother Leler Jones Cruce Harris wife of John Harris and great grandparents James C. Harris 1834-d. Dec. 14,1878 Brushy Pond, Ryans Creek Homestead, area near Cem.. where his was 1st grave in Cem. buried on land James C. Harris donated for Johnson Grove Meth. Cem, Brushy Pond, Al, Bremen address. ) James C. Harris wife was great grand mother Sarah Elizabeth Calvert Harris born 1838-1905 abt. Nita.. Baby Nita was always part of our family and a very special BABY. We have no pictures of Nita Harris. written by sister of Nita Harris, mm. Sisters and Brother of Nina are in birth order Frances,Nita Irena Baby Harris, Willie,Hison, Johnnie Mae,Ruby, Shirley, Margaret, Ray, Charlotte..Thank You Ms. Smith for picture, love the picture, a dear treasure for sure. thank You find a Grave site, m.
