William G. Ackerson of Carmichael, California, passed away on March 9, 2009. A native of Bushnell, Ilinois, he was 77 years old.

He was the husband of Zaida Ackerson; father of David (Jennifer) Ackerson, Mark (Nida) Ackerson, and Juanice (Robert) Pruitt; grandfather of Nicholas, Jacquelyn, William, Austin, Eric, and Kyle; brother of Charles Ackerson.

William Gordon was a 22-year veteran of the US Army, plus another 20 years of service to the State of California.

Friends were welcomed for visitation on Thursday from 4-8 pm and to attend the Rosary at 7pm at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd.) and were invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 am at St. Mel Catholic Church (4745 Pennsylvania Ave., Fair Oaks). In recognition of his career of service in the US Army, he was laid to rest with honor at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, California.

NOTE: William Ackerson was originally interred in a cremains burial in Section 14, Site 984. When his wife Zaida passed away in 2023, he was reinterred to be buried with her in Section 31, a casket section, on August 31, 2023.
