Catherine J. Davenport, 62, a member of the Harris News Service staff since 1976, died May 16, 1983, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. She suffered a heart attack March 13 and had recently undergone heart surgery. Born June 21, 1920, she married Oren Davenport Sept. 9, 1973, in Hutchinson. She wa a member of Mitchell Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel; the Rev. Harmon Lackey. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home
