Oliver Sr's father, Andrew Venable, is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA. in an unmarked grave. The cemetery caretakers would not allow a marker to be placed there since we did not know the exact place of interment. Andrew was en route from Tyler, Texas to St. Clair County, Alabama in December, 1853 when he became ill and died in Shreveport. His estate papers verify his demise and burial there.
