The remains of Mrs. Bessie Tip
ton Diffenbaugh, former local wo-
man, who died in Pittsburgh; Pa,
arrived here this afternoon about
2 o'clock and were taken direct
to Mt. Hope Cemetery where burial
was made following a brief service
conducted by Rev. Hoffenbacker,
pastor of Trinity Episcopal
Church.

Beginning today, the Cass
County Historical society rooms
on the third floor of the city
b u i l d i n g will be open each Saturday
afternoon from 11:30 to 4 : 3 0
o'clock, according to announcement
of curators.
A new g i f t to the society, which
will be exhibited, today, is an oil
portrait of General Tipton, done
On linen Instead of the customary
canvas, and measuring about 12
by 20 Inches. It was presented by
Mrs. Tom Herbert, of Pittsburgh,
Pa, in the name of her mother,
Mrs. Bessie Diffenbaugh, who Is
a granddaughter of General Tipton.
The Diffenbaugh's and Herbert's
formerly lived in Logansport.
The public Is invited to view
the historical rooms.
