DIED. LUSBY - On Saturday, July 4, 1903 at 1:55 p.m., Albert Lee Lusby, the beloved husband of Mamie E. Lusby (nee Greenfield), son of Ann M. and the late James T. Lusby. Funeral from his late residence, 316 Tenth Street southeast, on Tuesday, July 7. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Congressional Cemetery. Last Rites Performed
Funeral Services Held Over Remains of Fireman Lusby
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at 316 10th street southwest, over the remains of Albert Lee Lusby, driver of No. 8 fire company, who died Saturday of typhoid fever, Rev. G.F. Peters, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating. The interment was made in Congressional cemetery. The pallbearers, all intimate acquaintances of the deceased and chosen from the large detail of firemen who attended the funeral, were H.J. Raley, J.H. Virnstine, C.W. Buhler, C.G. Achstetter, W.A. Clark and E.C. Luskey. Floral offerings from associates in the department and from other friends covered the casket, while a fire department wagon, drawn by a horse often driven by the deceased, and filled with floral pieces, followed the hearse. The detail of firemen, under command of Third Assistant Chief James Keliher, escorted the remains to the place of burial, the line of march being from the residence up 10th street to B, then to 6th passing the fire station where Mr. Lusby had been stationed, on to Pennsylvania avenue, to E street and the cemetery. The detail was composed of the following firemen:
