Imogene Evans Jackson, 80, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from complications following surgery while surrounded by her family and loved ones. She resided at 514 North 300 West in Kaysville, Utah at the time of her death.


She was born March 12, 1928 to Walter Elmer and Emma Lydia Foxley Evans of Layton, Utah.


She married her sweetheart Thomas Richard Jackson on August 8, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away on August 1, 1973. They had seven children: Thomas R. Jr, Carol Bergen, Lauralee, Judy Flint (David), Jerry Duane (Diane), Leeland, and Alan Jay.


Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she served in many positions. She graduated from Davis High School in 1945.


She was a homemaker and also worked as a machinist at Hill Air Force Base. She loved working on engines, fixing and repairing things. She loved her grandchildren and great-grand- children, and they all adored her.


She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, sons Alan and Leeland, daughter Lauralee, parents, and two brothers Thomas and Ferris Evans. Surviving siblings are Cleone Evans Price, Lorraine Steneck, and Duane Evans (LaVea).


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
