Ronald W. "Don" Absten, 39, of Garland Texas, formerly of Liberty W. Virginia, died Tuesday in Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas after a short illness.
He was a native of Putnam County, W. VA. and lived a good part of his married life in Greensburg PA. He was a carpenter by trade.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Absten, of Greensburg PA and son, Ronald of Jeannette PA; sisters, Genevie Stitley of North Huntington, PA., Mrs. Reba Unrue of Moundsville, W. VA., Sylvia Turner of Virginia, Mona Starcher of Liberty; brothers, Estel Richard of Dunbar, W. VA., Leroy of Liberty, Orville Lee of Augusta GA., Brother and Sister in Law, David and M. Gail (Hixson) Martin of N. Hintingdon, PA., and Brother and Sister in Law, Ronald and Joyce (Hixson) Frye of Salem, OH. and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, W. VA. with the Rev. Jack Garten and the Rev. Paul Arthur officiating. Burial will be in the Barnett Chapel Cemetery, Fisher Ridge, Liberty.
