Born March 17, 1922, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Everett Spears and Effie Harless. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Bailey, as well as a son, James Ronnie Bailey; four brothers, Cecil Spears, Howard Spears, Calvin Spears and Hoover Spears; two sisters, Estella Eplin and Goldie Mae Roy, and a son-in-law, Bill Barrett Sr.
Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and a long-time member of Crown Church.
Survivors include her four children, Judy ?Carolyn? Barrett of Cyclone, Kennith Bailey and his wife, Yudellia, of Julian, Barbara Grimmett and her husband, Louie, of Greenville and Ronnie Bailey and his wife, Yvette, of Cyclone; a brother, Charles D. Spears and his wife, Barbara, of Barboursville; nine grandchildren, Bill Barrett Jr., Bobby Bailey, Kennith ?Buck? Bailey Jr., Michael Crosby, Michelle Barrett, Tamera Crosby, Amanda Grimmett, Lori Bailey and Sherry Bailey as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Evans Memorial Chapel at Oceana with Rev. Paul Ellis officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Mausoleum at Pecks Mill.
