Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Mae Laing, 78, will be held Saturday 10 am in Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. W. Coody of Mer Rouge officiating. Interment will be in the Mer Rouge Cemetery. Mrs. Laing died Thursday at the P & S Hospital in Shreveport.
Miss Lottie was born June 9, 1898 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but had spent most of her lifetime as a resident of Mer Rouge.
Miss Lottie married David Robert Laing who was a widower and already had over 10 children, several were older than she was. Miss Lottie then had many children herself.
Miss Lottie is survived by a daughter:
Mrs. Georgia Mae Noeth of Shreveport
Six sons:
J. C. Laing of San Francisco
Jefferson D. Laing of Kalamazo, Michigan
W. Harvey Laing of Shreveport
Charles E. "Chink" Laing, Sr. of Mer Rouge
John H. Laing of Bastrop
Billy B. Laing of Bastrop
Two step-daughters:
Mrs. Agnes Ellard of Benton, Arkansas
Mrs. Myrtle Maxwell of Shreveport
A step-son:
Monroe Laing of Port Arthur, Texas
