Ed Stephens,89, R.R.3, died at Parkview Nursing Home Sunday afternoon following a two months illness. He was born in Madison County near Alexandria, but spent most of his life in Delaware County.
Mr. Stephens was plumbing foreman at Ball Brothers Co. prior to his retirement. He was a member of Moose Lodge 33.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Dell; two daughters, Mrs. Naomi Hensley, R.R.1, Albany, Mrs. Ruth Stebbins, Chesterfield; a son, Lester E. (Gene)Stephens, R.R.3; a stepdaughter, Miss Florence Heath, also of R.R.3; a stepson, Orville Heath, Parker; nine granchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Charles Jennings, pastor of Eden United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in Hawk Cemetery.
