ABILENE — Graveside services for Clara May Hayter Womack, 103, of Lubbock will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She died Friday, April 27, 2001.
She was born Feb. 25, 1898, in the Hobbs community in Fisher County. She married W. Victor Womack on Oct. 8, 1922. He died in 1987. She attended Hobbs, Snyder and Cisco schools and was a graduate of Britain Training School in Cisco. She was a 1921 graduate of Southern Methodist University. Upon graduation, she taught in the Hobbs school for one year.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Builder's Sorosis Sunday School Class, Lubbock Woman's Study Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Colonies.
A son, W. Victor Womack Jr., also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Vondell W. Byrne of Dallas; a son, Russell E. of Lubbock; a sister, Connie Tutt of Rotan; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
