Served in the 11th Airborne Division, (511th Parachute Infantry) and upon his discharge in January, 1946 was issued the American Service Medal; Asiactic-Pacific Service Medal with the bronze service arrowhead; Philippiones Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars, and the World War History Medal. On the day of his burial the family received a certificate of recognition signed by President Gerald R. Ford stating "The United States of America honors the memory of Paul F. Dallos. This certificate is awarded by a grateful nation in recognition of devoted and selfless consecration to the service of our country in the Armed Forces of the United States."
At the time of his death he was employed as a locksmith at Potsdam State University College and maintained his own contracting business.
Everyone who knew him will tell you he was a caring and kind man who loved children, especially his own two daughters and three sons. Sadly, through no fault of his, he never had the opportunity to show his children who he really was and just how much he loved them.
