Here is the will abstract for Elijah Nelson, my 4th great-grandfather (he left is silver watch to Elijah Anderson Nelson):

Abstract of the will of Elijah Nelson .

Devises all real estate or farm on which I now reside, to my two sons, James and Absalom Nelson. Son James to pay to son Absalom, four hundred dollars.

Gives to son John, a note I hold against him, for three hundred and sixty-three dollars.
To son Peter, two hundred dollars.
To Granddaughter Susan Ingersoll, Fifty dollars.
To Grandson, Elijah Bedle, Saddle& Bridle.
To Grandson, Elijah Nelson son of John, My silver watch.
To John son of Absalom, my two year old colt.
To Granddaughter Susan, daughter of Peter, Twenty five dollars.

Orders: undivided right in farm bought of John Strang, of Yorktown, Westchester County, N.Y.: the avails to purchase a lot of land for the use of my daughter Mary Strang, wife of John Strang: during her natural life, after, to Peter, John, Nancy Bedell and Sarah Heady.
Remainder if any to children above.

Provides for wife Susan.

Peter Nelson and friend Dr. James Fountain, Executors. Witnesses: Henry Hyuard and James R. Travis.
