Gary Joe Bunn, son of Joe Elmer and Alma Cumbie Bunn, was born May 6, 1946, in Borger, Texas. He departed this life Sunday, March 1, 2009, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, nine months, and twenty-five days.

On February 21, 1981, he was united in marriage to Darla Jean Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Larry Bunn.

Gary is survived by a son, John Joseph Bunn, of Springfield, Missouri; his wife, Darla Bunn, of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patsy and John Dodge; a nephew, Dylan Dodge, and his wife, Kacy; a great-nephew, Dayton Dodge; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was born and raised in Texas and graduated from Brady High School, in Brady, Texas in the Class of 1964. He then attended Howard Payne University, Amarillo College and Frank Phillips College in Texas. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy until being honorably discharged on May 26, 1978. He became a master electrician and worked for ASARCO in Amarillo for several years. Eventually, he made his home in Lebanon, Missouri, and was currently working at the Wal Mart Store in Lebanon.

Gary had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lebanon.

In his spare time he enjoyed reading, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing on the computer, and spending time with his son, Joe.
Gary was a loving family man, a dedicated worker, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday March 5, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be at Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation is Wednesday evening 7-8:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.

A memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
