Rachel attended college for at least one year. While in college, she worked as a Stenographer. Her father was the US Postmaster in Auvergne, Jackson, AR and was confirmed 21 Jul, 1927. He died 9 Jan 1934 while in service at this job. On 10 Jan 1934, Rachel took over as US Postmaster for her dad. I don't know how long she served in that position.
In 1955, Rachel traveled to Mombasa, Kenya, in East Africa. She appears to have traveled alone and I do not know if she had a purpose other than enjoying travel. However, it's an interesting trip for a single lady traveling alone in 1955.
Rachel and her mother Annie lived together until Annie's death in 1947. To my knowledge, Rachel always lived in Arkansas. She is my 2nd cousin, 2x removed.
In memory of Rachel - rest peacefully....
