Elisha Butts was the son of William and Anna M (Lemmon) Butts. He married Lucinda Hughes Gordon 5/11/1882. Lucindas parents were Robert and Rachel (Mansfield) Gordon. They lived up the mountain not far from the Salem Church. They attended the Salem Church as well as did many of their children when they were growing up. They have two daughters buried in unmarked graves near the fence at the Salem cemetery. Katie and Lena Butts.
