Augusta Man Dies Friday in Local Hospital
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Augusta Community church for LeRoy Gelsinger, 72, who died at Teton Memorial hospital Friday. Gelsinger had suffered a heart ailment for the past 18 years.
He was born at Rich Hill, Mo., Jan. 14, 1885, and came to Lewis and Clark county in 1905, where he worked for the late Steve Mosher and later for the Henningsen Land Co. In 1919 he moved to Smith Creek where he entered livestock raising. Gelsinger retired in 1948 and moved to Augusta and since 1952 served as justice of the peace there.
He married Hattie L. Maphies at Helena June 22, 1905, and she survives him with two children, Charles and Lee, both of Augusta; three grandchildren; two brothers, Guy Gelsinger of Joseph, Ore., and Abner Gelsinger of Jerico Springs, Mo.
Banks Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements and burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Great Falls.
