A funeral for Delpha Cleta Jenkins of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. The Rev. Doug Rose of First Christian Church, McMinnville, and the Rev. Richard Treadwell of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, McMinnville, will officiate.

Interment will be in the mausoleum in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.

The funeral home will be open for visitation from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and noon to 7 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Jenkins died May 20, 1999, in her home. She was 92.

She was born Feb. 5, 1907, in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Roscoe C. and Jessie M. Harrington Powell. She moved to McMinnville with her family when she was 2. She graduated from McMinnville High School in 1925.

After graduation, she worked for Oregon Mutual Insurance Co., McMinnville, for six and a half years. She later moved to California.

She and John A. Jenkins were married Feb. 14, 1931 in California.

Mrs. Jenkins moved back to McMinnville in 1933. During World War II, she worked for the Rationing Board. She later worked for R.A. Neuman and Sons Contractors and Linfield College. She then worked for Farmers' Cooperative Creamery until she retired.

A member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, she was a volunteer in the women's auxiliary, vestry, soup kitchen and Helping Hands. She also participated in activities in First Christian Church. Family members said Mrs. Jenkins was a devoted Christian who was always willing to help wherever she was needed.

Survivors include a daughter, Jandell Hines of Newberg; a son, John Jenkins of Tillamook; a sister, Lois Standifer of Bend; two half-sisters, Marge Cole and Geraldine Shipley, both of McMinnville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980; and by a son, Robert Jenkins.
