A Mass of Christian Burial for Vernon Brown Sr., 83, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lakewood Cemetery in Henderson under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, March 6, 2009, at the funeral home and the family will receive friends at it's conclusion. Mr. Brown was born on January 25, 1926, in Baytown, and he passed away on March 5, 2009, in Longview. He owned and operated Vernon Brown Construction, was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He served his country with the U.S. Navy in WWII. He is survived by his children, Vernon Brown II, Lynn Brown, Margaret Herritage, Gwen Ingram, and Sharon Jones.
