Obit - Minster Post - March 18, 1961

Victor L. Barga, 77, Rossburg R.R. 1, a well-known retired area farmer, died Saturday at 11:45 p.m. at his home, of a coronary thrombosis. Mr. Barga, a native of North Star, resided in the area all his life. His home is located on the Hughes Road, three miles southwest of North Star. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Versailles, and St. Louis Church, North Star. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at the church. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Church, with the Rev. Louis Barga officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Anna; eight sons, Rev. Louis Barga, C.PP.S. of Renselaer, Ind., Brother Adrian Barga, C.PP.S., of Canton Vitalis (Si), and Vernon, both of Versailles, Eugene and Duane, both of Rossburg, Othor, of North Star and Ivan, of Union City, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Luella Echemann, of Sidney, Mrs. Thelma Welch, of Union City, Ind., and Mrs. Mary Grieshop, of New Bremen; 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Alfred of Versailles, Clarence of North Star, Cletus of New Weston, and Robert of Union City, Ind.; and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Liette, Greenville, and Carrie and Ruth Barga of New Weston. Arrangement were in charge of the Hogenkamp Funeral Home at St. Henry. (Obituary contributed by Jim)
