Harry was son of William Perry Redman and Jemima Grace Dear. On 31 Dec 1933 Harry married Glennette McGowan in Wright Co. MO. Right after they were married, Harry and Glennette moved to Kansas City. Harry and Glennette had two daughters, Linda and Sheila. Harry first got a job working on a city work crew, but he was fired when he refused to vote more than once for Pendergast during an election. His crew was driven to a poll and they all voted. Then, they were driven to another poll and told to vote again. Harry refused. His job gone, Harry next got a job at the Union Wire Rope (cable) Factory where his brother George was working. He was promoted to manager and he continued to work there until retirement. The family lived in Kansas City on Agnes street until Sheila was in first grade, at which time they moved to Raytown, Missouri.

They became active members of Lynnwood Baptist Church and Harry became a deacon. When the church moved from the center of the city to the suburbs and became Oakwood Baptist Church, they kept their membership with the church.

After Glennette passed away, Harry married Loreta Pearl Haselwood Lucas on 10 Nov 1984. Loreta had lived at one time in Wright Co. and was also a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
