"Peter Smith the husband of Elizabeth Geist-Smith was born at ___ February 2, 1814. He was one of those subscription teachers. He died at Leck Kill, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania on April 26, 1865 and is buried in the Brick Church cemetery (now known as Saint Johns) at Leck Kill. His grave is marked with a tombstone and he is buried on what was once a part of his own farm. He donated the ground to the church when it was first built. The writer of this had an Aunt who was taught by this Peter Smith. His marriage date is not known, and his children are given under his name."
