Son of Ransome S. Clark and Hettie Orlena Giddens. His father died in Nashville during the Civil War and is buried in the National Cemetery there. Jake married Nancy C. Tucker 8 Jun 1880 in Texas Co. MO. They were parents of Arthur, John B., Ransome D., Manona "Noma," Senora "Nora," Isadora, and Hetty Jane. He said he was 3/4 Cherokee and sang Cherokee songs to his children.
