Dennis L. Ammerman, age 71, of Gobles, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo. Dennis was born November 4, 1935 in Lansing, the son of Sedrick and Ruth (Betzner) Ammerman, and has lived in the Gobles area for the past 15 years. He served in the USMC, was a brick mason, formerly worked at Miller Davis Construction, and was also self-employed for 10 years. He enjoyed fly fishing and golfing; but his greatest love and most important was his family, especially the times they spent at the cabin up north. Surviving are his wife, Gloria, whom he married September 18, 1959 in Otsego; 2 daughters, Tina Marie (Brian) Lounsberry of Gobles and Denise Kay Kincaid of Gobles; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 1 sister, Joyce Lumbard of Comstock; 1 niece and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Tony Ammerman, in 1987, The family will meet friends on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Merson Church, Gobles, with Pastor James Davis officiating. Private interment for the family will follow in Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township. The family suggest memorials be made to the Dennis Ammerman Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
