She was born April 20, 1917, at Matheson, Colo., the daughter of Ira O. and Zona Louise Shaffer Bolton. She graduated from Lyons High School. A resident of Kansas most of her life, she was executive director of Red Cross Program in Barton County. Before her executive position, she was a professional dress designer and seamstress giving many style shows in the area.
Survivors include: a son; a daughter; a sister, Laura Rife, Olathe; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Otis M., Virgil, Carroll, Laurence I., Sheldon and Luther "Dutch" Bolton; and three sisters, Maye Irwin, Lurena Metcalf and Isabelle Martinie.
There will be no services held. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Sillin Funeral Home, 214 West Avenue South, Lyons, is in charge of arrangements.
