BROWNWOOD - Henry M. "Bud" Abernathy, 58, died Monday at a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bill Anderson and Ray Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mr. Abernathy was born in Grosvenor and lived in Brown County all his life. He worked in several jobs, most recently as an oil field pumper. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. He married Linda Smith in Brownwood in 1964.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; two sons, Travis Abernathy of Waco and Morris Lee Abernathy of Brownwood; two daughters, Betty Bray of Hillsboro and Deanna Heil of Waco; two brothers, Hollie Ray Abernathy of Brownwood and David Joe Abernathy of Houston; and 12 grandchildren.
