Viola, age 72, died at Midland Hospice House in Topeka from complications of breast cancer. She was the daughter of Edward and Geneva (Pittman) Perdue. She graduated from the Bradford Academy in Bradford, Vermont in 1954. She married Bruce A. Pierson on March 3, 1955, in East Corinth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Dorothy Sweet and Charles Jerry Perdue. Survivors include her husband, her children, Bret Pierson, Sherree Johnson, and Shawn Bruns, her siblings, Edward Perdue and Janice Embry, and four grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial was in Miller Cemetery in Everest, Kansas.
