"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 28, No 20, p 79, May 9, 1872.

In Wirt, N. Y., April 11th, 1872, of a disease of the heart, Mrs. Martha Green, in the 56th year of her age. She was a daughter of Dea. Ezekiel Johnson, late of Wirt; made a public profession of her religion at the age of fifteen years, and united with the Friendship Seventh-day Baptist Church, and for a number of years remained a faithful member of this church; afterwards removed her standing to the church at Dakota, Wis., and from thence to Carlston, Minn., where she remained an honored and faithful member until called away by death. Sister Green had been spending a year or more with her friends in Allegany county, N. Y., but at the time of her death was making arrangements to return to her home at Alden, Minn., where she leaves three children to mourn her death. During a previous illness, and supposing death was nigh, she selected as a text for her funeral discourse, 2 Cor. 5: 1, as expressive of her Christian hope.
