Frederick and Jane, the parents of William MULL, settled in Rush County in 1825, and took up their home in Walker Township, on Section 21. Here, William, the subject of this sketch was born April 26, 1828. At the age of 22 years, he married Elizabeth, the daughter of Fielden JONES and Phoebe MORRISON JONES, the ceremony taking place in Rushville, February 27, 1851. They have had seven children, viz., O.P. MULL, Amadalina, Clarissa, Lizzie A., Nellie Grant, Jacob Arnold and William Earl.

Mr. MULL built the first house on his farm twenty-one years ago, having only eighteen acres cleared. He is now the possessor of over five hundred acres of the best land in the county, and has one of the best houses and barns in the county. He is situated near the Rushville and Shelbyville pikes, a few miles from Rushville. He has a very interesting family and a pleasant home circle. In politics, he is a Republican, as was his father before him, who was also a stanch Whig in the old times. Mrs. MULL's father was also a Republican. Mr. MULL has never, however, figured prominently in politics, preferring to remain at home with his family and improve his farm, which bears marks of careful and constant attention. He is as well calculated to enjoy himself as any farmer in Rush County.
