"Ellsworth - Oct. 11 – Friends and neighbors here were much grieved to hear of the sudden passing of Mrs. May Burgoyne at her home early last Friday morning, death due from apoplexy. Mrs. Burgoyne was the faithful wife of William H. Burgoyne and her passing is deeply mourned by her family and many friends. She was born in Preston county, West Va., April 2, 1867, and had lived her 13 years, where she was highly respected. She was a member of the local M. E. Church. Besides her husband she leaves one son, Frank, at home; five grandchildren, her aged mother, Angeline Jenkins, a sister, Miss Maud Jenkins, both of Reno, W. Va; three brothers, George and John Jenkins of Evansville, W. Va., and Creed Jenkins, Ludlow, S. D. Largely attended funeral services were held at the residence Saturday evening at 7 o'clock with Rev. Paul Sell officiating. The body was taken to Mt. Israel, W. Va. where services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, with burial in Mt. Israel cemetery. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement."
