Born June 28, 1925, in Wilmington, N.C., daughter of the late Joseph Springs and Emily Marie Fleet Bishop, she was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church where she was active many years in the Ladies Circle Three Group and the Philathca Sunday School Class. She was an Avon sales representative over 25 years in the Sikeston and Charleston areas.
On April 14, 1951, in Sikeston, she married Dayton Aaron Lasater who preceded her in death on May 16, 2000.
One brother also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Dayton and Cheryl Lasater, Gary Lee and Susan Lasater and Larry Joseph and Melanie Lasater; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Avis and James Martin, and Joan and Patrick Rolwing; six grandchildren, Tyler Lasater and Audra Lasater, Sarah Lasater and Allison Lasater and Ross Lasater and Taylor Lasater; and one great-grandchild, Brooke Lasater.
Visitation was at the Dempster Memorial Chapel of First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. The Revs. Jeff Posegate and Harold Norton officiated.
Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home of Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
