Funeral services for Mary Hirsch were held Sunday afternoon at Harmon Funeral Home, Rev. Helena Champlin officiating. Mrs. Hirsch passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Hauxwell, October 30, 1958. She was born at Lamont October 21, 1867, the daughter of Jeptha and Mary Prince Baker. In her early life she was one of the active pioneer workers in the woman's suffrage cause. She helped organize Gainesville Rebakah Lodge, was a Ella Chapter, O.E.S. member.
Her husband, William, passed away in 1945, survivors are a son, Chester Hirsch of Perry; three daughters, Mrs. Fred N. Lounsbury of Port Chester, NY, Mrs. Chester Belden and Mrs. Richard Hauxwell both of Gainesville; a brother, Arthur Baker of Warsaw; a sister, Mrs. H. N. Bradley of Charlestown, W.Va.; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial in Maple Grove, Gainesville.
