John T Bedford was born in Andrew County, Missouri, June 4, 1856. A.M. Bedford, his father, was born March 30, 1828, in Kentucky, and his mother, formerly (Mary E. Selecman), was born in Virginia, August 26, 1831. John T. was raised on a farm in Andrew County, and was educated at the common schools, supplemented with one years attendance at Columbia College. He was married February 12, 1879, in Andrew County, to Miss Maggie Carson, daughter of Joseph and Maggie Carson. She was born in Andrew County, Missouri, October 11, 1855. After his marriage, Mr. B. moved to his present farm in Gentry County. He has 230 acres of land, all fenced, with fair house and improvements and a young orchard. This place is located in section 36,township 61, range 33. They have one child, Charles A, born July 10, 1881. Mr. B. is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church *South), and his wife of the Christian Church.
