Kathleen Schulte, known as "Kathy," died at home at the age of 57, from a massive stroke, in Chandler, Arizona. She was a homemaker, was out of work for awhile due to health issues. But looking forward in starting a new job the following week, and happy about the recent birth of her 8th grandchild and first grandson. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. She use to be in Banking for years. She had been married 36 years and had four children. Her widowed mother lived with them. She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Donald Warren Knapp Jr., who died on February 3rd, 1966, at the age of 20, due to spinal cancer, and her dearly beloved father, Donald Warren Knapp Sr., who died on November 3rd, 1993, at the age of 66, from a brain infection shortly after suffering a heart attack. She is survived by: Her husband of 36 years, Loran Schulte-58, her mother, Mildred Knapp-81, a daughter, Kimberly Schmal-35, and three sons, Russell Schulte-32, Jeremy Schulte-27, and Daniel Schulte-23, plus 7 granddaughters, and one grandson, all from Chandler, Arizona, also a half-sister, Margaret Stickney-59, from Carter Lake, Iowa, and two half-brothers, Michael Knapp-61, from Omaha, Nebraska, and Dave Knapp Sr. -60, from Wichita, Kansas, and three second cousins, Barbara Dooley-54, from Wolf Creek, Montana, and Russell Knapp-58, from Bennington, Nebraska, and Kenneth Knapp-48, from New York. She is buried next to her father.

Half-Brother David Knapp Sr. died at the age of 60, same year, on October 29th, 2009, at the Wichita V.A. due to complications of Heart Disease. Buried at the Kansas State Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas with Honors.
