LYONS - Jennifer Reed Johnston, 38, died June 3, 2007, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

She was born April 13, 1969, in Lyons, the daughter of Garry and Linda Homan Reed. She was a 1987 graduate of Chase High School. A lifetime Chase and Lyons resident, she was a secretary for Shelter Insurance, Lyons.

She belonged to St. Paul Catholic Church and Altar Society, both in Lyons.

Survivors include: two sons, Ian Johnston and Reed Johnston, both of the home; her parents, Garry and Linda Reed, Chase; a sister, Sara Hazen and husband, Ty, Lyons; grandmother, Marcella Homan, Lyons; aunts, Pamela Glantz, Blue Springs, Mo., and Marcia Ewing, Geneseo; two nieces, Emily and Katie Hazen, both of Lyons; numerous cousins; and the father of her children, Michael Johnston, McPherson.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, James Homan and Emil and Margaret Reed.

Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with Father Robert Spencer presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Birzer-Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Ian and Reed Johnston Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home, 214 West Ave. South, Lyons, KS 67554.
