Son of Adam J. Ahart & Mary Elizabeth Tune, Andrew married first to Elizabeth Stevens on 20 August 1860 in Cedar County, Missouri. They had these known children: Mary J., George W., Tennessee L., Theodocia E. & Nancy C. Ahart

After Elizabeth's death in 1870, he married Rebecca Ann Reed Ray on 24 March 1872, again in Cedar County, Missouri.

Andrew and Rebecca had these known children: Lelia R. & Amos Burton Ahart.

Andrew Jackson Ahart served as a private with Company D, 8th Cavalry, Missouri State Militia, enlisted 01 March 1862 in Pittsburg, Missouri & was discharged by special order of disability on 15 April 1863 in Lebanon, Missouri. His military pension records state he died 11 March 1913.
