Thomas Burks Services Set

Services for Thomas Weldon Burks, 74, Tyler, are set for 5 p.m. Wednesday in Thompson funeral chapel in Jacksonville with the Revs. Royce Riley and Benny Walker officiating.

Burial will be in Bullard Cemetery.

Mr. Burks died Monday night in a Frankston nursing home after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 9, 1909 in Smith County, and formerly lived in Dialville area. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cathelene Burks, Tyler; two step-sons, the Rev. Royce Riley, Kaufman, and Whitcomb Riley, Eufala, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Bobbie) Pierce, Jacksonville, Mrs. Carol Casey, Austin, Mrs. Katie Loudermilk, Edna; three brothers, Logan Burks, Dallas, Lloyd Burks, Tyler, and Gordon Burks, Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Mrs Gertrude Bickerstaff, Bullard, and Mrs. Ethelyn Tillery, Tyler; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
