Mrs. Gillard died October 5 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since August 28. She was transferred to Fairfield from Vincennes Hospital where she had suffered a heart attack while being hospitalized for an eye operation.
Mrs. Gillard was a member of the Olive Congregational Christian Church and had worked at Johnnye Manufacturing Co. for over 30 years prior to her retirement.
Surviving are a great nephew, James Powell of Ventura, California, who was reared in her home; and two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Means of Wayne City and Mrs. Kenneth (Minnie) Wood of Fairfield.
Born January 1, 1902, her parents were Malta and Elli Moore Redman. She was formerly married to George Gillard and divorced.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Frank Redman and a sister, Mrs. Eva Powell.
Officiating at the services were Rev. Harold Meriwether of Carmi, pastor of the Olive Church and Rev. Glen Means, of Stewartsville, Indiana. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery.
