Ancle "Redcap" Golden, 86, of 33 Goldens Alley in Corbin, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 at his residence.
The son of the late John C. and Amanda Carr Golden, he was born May 18, 1917 in Bell County. He worked as a coal miner with 68 years with United Mine Workers in Lynch. He was also a member of the Gilliam Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland. He married Ila Rose Golden on Sept. 23, 1939. They had 5 children--Glenn Elbert, Jerry W., Melvin L., Albert M. and Amanda Ellen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Rose Golden July 7, 1987; one son, Glenn Elbert Golden Feb. 27, 1968; five brothers; six sisters; one grandson; one step great-grandson; and one special friend, O'Neil Bone Childers.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry W. "Shoestring" Golden and wife Betty of Woodbine; Melvin L. Golden and wife Eloise of Evarts and Albert M. Golden and wife Eileen of Yantis, Texas; one daughter, Amanda Ellen Evans of Woodbine; four grandsons; four granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; two step granddaughters; four step grandsons; four step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandson; a special friend, A.C. Bert Lloyd, Sr. of Cumberland; and a host of family and friends whom mourn his passing.
The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Corbin Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Alan Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Terrell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Corbin Funeral Home.
